Okay to be wrong

The psychology of having to be right is a tiring state of mind. A person that can never be wrong is upholding an impossible standard. Because in their eyes, being wrong is a failure, they’ll lose respect or credibility, being right is winning, or they need to uphold a perfect version of themselves. They will never admit they were wrong. They just become more stubborn and defensive, might go on the attack. Even when they’re wrong and shown to be wrong they’ll continue defending their position. Through relativism, subjectivism, emotional appeal, or maybe resort to reshaping their original argument, playing it off as if it was misunderstood, just to save face.
